Voter File Manager
The Colorado Democratic Party seeks a Voter File Manager to manage the day-to-day voter file needs of CDP, county party organizations, state and federal campaigns, and activists. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining the CDP headquarters IT infrastructure, management of all use and maintenance of and training for VoteBuilder and the CDP My Campaign database. VFM will also collect, perform research on, track and analyze all relevant voter and turnout data.
Qualified Candidates should have the following:
• Prior campaign experience including experience analyzing data and writing in a political environment.
• Knowledge and familiarity with VAN. Intermediate knowledge of Excel including formulas, functions, and pivot tables. Intermediate knowledge of Access (or other SQL database) including creating queries and manipulating large data sets.
• Ability to standardize data from multiple sources and produce complex reports and to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Experience with IT support including but not limited to administrating a Windows 2000 Server environment, maintaining networked printers and other devices and providing quick solutions to various IT problems on PCs and Macs.

Solidarity Strategies
For Fall 2011

POSITION TITLE: Political Intern
LOCATION: Washington, D.C.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 8/20/2011

Solidarity Strategies is looking for a high energy, smart, productive intern, interested in gaining hands on, practical political experience. Interns will directly assist senior staff in designing campaign programs for labor unions, progressive organizations and targeted campaigns. Please note that Solidarity is looking for one intern with special interest in development and fundraising and another intern that is interested in political campaigns and labor union politics. In your application, please note which of these intern areas you are most interested in.

DUTIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
The internship will offer students a structured experience working one-on-one with senior staff - the intern's staff mentor. Interns will learn to analyze key political issues and articulate solutions to the pressing problems of the day. We hope that our interns will learn that activism and participation in the democratic process yields results.

Though responsibilities vary, most interns will work on:

· Assisting with campaign planning, research and targeting of 2011 and 2012 races
· Helping to coordinate political activity in targeted states
· Assisting supervisor with preparation for meetings and events
· Working at trainings, meetings and events with senior staff on behalf of clients
· General office support
· Tracking and organizing grassroots efforts with a focus on connecting individual citizens to coalition members

REQUIREMENTS:
· Commitment to progressive politics
· Academic background and interest in politics
· Eagerness to learn
· Ability to work independently and take initiative
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Strong research skills

COMPENSATION: Internships are unpaid, but offer great experience, incredible networking opportunities and we will happily work with your school to ensure course credit. Based on performance the internship could grow into a paid position with Solidarity Strategies.
