Job Description

Hyundai Motor Company is seeking an assistant manager for its Washington, D.C. Government Affairs office.

Duties will include:
Planning and executing office initiatives, including promotional events;
Developing communications, including correspondence, memoranda, advocacy materials, and public statements;
Preparing and filing reports required by laws and regulations relating to lobbying;
Monitoring legislation and policies affecting Hyundai’s interests, particularly on environment, tax, environment, safety, and labor;
Responding to information requests from Congress and the Executive Branch;
Providing support for Hyundai’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs;
Tracking and managing expenses for office initiatives;
Serving as a liaison between media and corporate executives;
Representing Hyundai in trade associations and other organizations;
Representing Hyundai at events; and
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Candidate must be able to manage and complete multiple challenging tasks on a regular basis. Strong written and oral communication skills, an exacting attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, a sense of humor, and flexible hours are a must. Occasional travel, including overseas, may be required. Candidates must have excellent MS Office application skills and at least two to three years of experience in a congressional office or lobbying firm.
