Government Affairs Associate

Dialysis Patient Citizens (DPC) is a non-profit, nationwide patient advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. We work to improve the quality of life for dialysis and pre-dialysis patients. DPC currently seeks a Government Affairs Associate to provide administrative support to help expand its advocacy and education efforts for the 31 million Americans with chronic kidney disease and the half-million patients with kidney failure. The Government Affairs Associate will serve as the first point of contact with our membership and volunteer advocates as well as with Congressional offices and the Administration. The individual selected for this position will help plan and organize meetings and events, facilitate grassroots initiatives as well as contribute to external publications and DPC social media. The Government Affairs Associate will also be responsible for general office management and will assist with the budget/reimbursement process.

A high performing candidate should bring the following;
Bachelor’s degree
Experience working with non-profits, health care community and/or policy makers
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to plan and execute projects
Solid reasoning, critical thinking and problem solving abilities
Ability to connect with membership
Detail-oriented, yet able to move projects forward
Ability to multitask
