The DS works closely with the Executive Assistant/Scheduler as well as legislative, press and state staff members. POSITION: Two (2) Field Organizer(s), Michigan Democratic Party
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general supervision of the Political Organizing Director, undertakes organizing activity on behalf of the Party, including but not limited to building and maintaining relationships with elected Democratic officials, state and local Party organizations, constituency groups and allied organizations; planning and executing organizing efforts; training of Party members and activists; candidate recruitment and training; voter registration, education, and issues conferences. During the six months prior to November in a General Election year, duties may be changed to include working on campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment to the goals and ideals of the Democratic Party is a prerequisite. Experience in political organizing preferred. Must be organized, responsible and able to work independently under pressure in a challenging political environment. Must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout Michigan. Computer literacy required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: $20,000 - $35,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Medical, dental and optical insurance and a 401 (k) pension plan. Reimbursement available for certain work-related expenses.
