The National Taxpayers Union (NTU) seeks an energetic and talented individual to join our unique outreach team engaged in lobbying, grassroots organizing, coalition building, communications, and policy development. This person will work primarily on federal issues such as tax relief, spending reform, entitlement modernization, and economic freedom.
Typical duties would include: promoting NTU’s position on legislation and regulatory proposals, representing the organization at meetings and conferences, establishing relationships with key government staff, potentially serving as a spokesperson with the media, and authoring policy papers, vote alerts, testimonies, and other communications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to limited government, excellent interpersonal skills, solid writing abilities, and a working knowledge of fiscal policy.
The Federal Government Affairs Manager would report to the Director of Government Affairs, and the position is best suited for an individual with 2-3 years of experience on Capitol Hill or in a federal lobbying shop. Salary is commensurate with experience, in the $40,000-$50,000 range.
