Vacancy:  Government Affairs and Policy Assistant

NRHA, a national non-profit membership association of more than 22,000, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant, Government Affairs and Policy. This position provides support to the Vice President of Government Affairs and Policy on the policy and programmatic interests of the NRHA with the U.S. Congress, the White House, federal agencies, and other relevant non-governmental organizations.

Qualifications: College degree in relevant field. Capitol Hill experience in the field of health policy is preferred.  Proven successful experience working with Congress, federal agencies and national organizations and associations is preferred.  Experience and working knowledge of federal health programs (especially Medicare/Medicaid), the budget and appropriations process are required.  Knowledge of rural health and related legislative, regulatory and policy issues is strongly preferred.  Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to get along with people.  Some travel for public speaking engagements required.
