Media Outreach Specialist - Congressman John Fleming, M.D. of Louisiana is seeking a broadcast/TV media outreach specialist for his Washington, D.C. office.  Primary duties will be outreach to national media for interview placements, with specific focus on pitching stories to national television outlets and booking interviews.  Candidates with past newsroom experience as a producer/booker or in public relations are preferred.  Excellent communication skills, an established network of national media contacts and a track record of national TV placement are a must.  Position reports to Communications Director.  Salary commensurate with experience.  Strong conservative philosophy required.  Interested candidates should send a CV and cover letter to ben.schultz@mail.house.gov, with "Media Position" in the subject line.  

Committee Press Secretary and Press Assistant - House Natural Resources Committee Majority is seeking a Press Secretary and a Press Assistant to join active communications team.  Candidate for Press Secretary must have 3+ years experience.  Duties include: drafting press releases, statements, and op-eds; speaking on the record with reporters; and proactively communicating with the media about hearings and initiatives. Press Assistant should be an enthusiastic team-player with the ability to multi-task.  Duties include: compiling daily news clips, updating website, and assisting with special projects and events.  Experience with HTML and social media a plus. Legislative Director – Congressman Chris Lee (R-NY) is seeking a Legislative Director to lead an aggressive legislative operation and a Ways and Means Committee portfolio. The successful candidate will have deep Hill experience, Ways and Means issue expertise, exceptional communications skills, and the ability to manage a legislative staff and constituent mail operation. Attention to detail, a healthy sense of humor and the desire to excel in a fun, fast-paced and demanding environment required. New York ties a plus. Legislative Correspondent - Veteran Republican has opening for Legislative Correspondent, to manage legislative mail and possibly handle one or two legislative issues.  Position requires outstanding writing ability, good judgment, efficiency, accountability and willingness to spend long hours working at a computer to produce large volumes of mail.  Experience with IQ helpful.  Willing to consider candidates without Hill experience if they are sharp intellectually, have the above qualities, and have the drive and energy to take on what is routinely a heavy workload.  Send resumes to houseofrep.jobs@mail.house.gov.

Intern(s) - The office of Congressman David B. McKinley (WV-1) currently has immediate internship positions available in our Washington, DC office. We are looking for highly qualified candidates that are motivated, detail orientated, and personable. The ideal candidates will have excellent research and writing abilities, be able to multi-task and interact well with constituents.  These are unpaid positions, but interns will have the opportunity to experience working on Capitol Hill, learn about the legislative process, and attend briefings of interest. Responsibilities include answering the phone, giving tours of the Capitol, assisting with constituent correspondence, and supporting the legislative staff on various projects.
