Communications Director - Conservative Republican House Member is seeking an experienced Communications Director to handle all press and communications operations in the office. This includes an aggressive approach to earned and social media along with heavy writing and constituent outreach programs. The candidate must have Hill experience, a strong communications background, excellent writing skills, be very flexible, and thrive in a demanding, busy environment. Operating with a sense of urgency and a passion for social media is a must. Staff and Scheduling Assistant - Midwestern Republican is seeking a Staff and Scheduling Assistant for the DC office. Scheduling responsibilities include assisting the Deputy Chief of Staff/scheduler with the Members’ DC and district schedule, making travel arrangements and coordinating event logistics. Staff Assistant responsibilities will include greeting constituents, coordinating tours and the DC intern program, answering phones, and general staff and member support. Candidates must be highly organized, possess meticulous attention to detail and have the ability to multitask. This is a unique position that requires someone who is proactive and personable. Legislative Assistant - Conservative House Republican is seeking a Legislative Assistant to work on Ways & Means Committee issues. The position would involve an active portfolio including helping draft legislation and advising the Congressman on issues before the Committee. Ideal candidates will have significant (at least 3-5 years) private sector experience, preferably focused on tax policy and/or social security policy. A graduate-level degree is required. Internship – The office of Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) has an immediate opening for spring interns (today through mid-May) in the Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) greeting visitors, answering telephones, sorting mail, assisting staff with projects, and attending briefings. This unpaid internship offers great exposure to the inner workings of a Capitol Hill office. Ties to Arkansas are a plus, but not required. Intern - Congressman Greg Walden of Oregon is seeking interns to start immediately in his Washington, DC office. Congressman Walden is a member of the House Republican leadership and the chairman of a very active subcommittee on Energy & Commerce, so the office is always very busy. Ideal candidates will be college students or recent graduates who are outgoing, proactive, hard-working, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, able to multi-task, and have a history of customer service. Interns will assist with many of the daily necessities related to constituent relations and legislative research. Although no two days are the same, an intern may be expected to attend and take notes at policy briefings, lead Capitol tours, answer phones, and assist in managing constituent correspondences and administrative operations. Interns will be immersed in the congressional process and their work will provide valuable experience for future endeavors.
